HOODOO

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 July 2026

Hoodoo ("we") is a game-discovery service operated by Mountainroad DSP S.à r.l.-S, 29 Rosboesch, L-6870 Wecker, Luxembourg (see the imprint). This page explains, in plain language, what data we handle and why.

WHAT WE COLLECT

When you sign in through Steam, we receive and store your public Steam identity: your 64-bit Steam ID, display name, avatar, profile URL, and country code. We never see or store your Steam password — sign-in happens entirely on Steam's own website.

When you sync your library (an action you trigger), we store your list of owned games and your playtime figures, including a history of playtime over time. We only ever retrieve Steam data about you, at your request — never about anyone who hasn't signed in.

When you ask the quest-giver a question, the text of your question and the names and playtimes of games in your library are processed to generate recommendations. We also store a daily counter of how many questions you've asked.

WHERE IT LIVES

Your data is stored in a database hosted by Supabase in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union).

WHO PROCESSES IT

We use a small number of service providers to run Hoodoo: Supabase (database hosting, EU), Vercel (application hosting and delivery), Anthropic (processes your quest-giver questions together with your game list to generate recommendations), and Valve/Steam (the source of your library data, governed by your own Steam privacy settings).

We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising trackers. If that ever changes, this policy will change first and say so plainly.

COOKIES

Hoodoo sets exactly one cookie: an encrypted, essential session cookie that keeps you signed in. No tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no third-party cookies.

LEGAL BASIS

We process your data to provide the service you signed up for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — performance of a contract).

YOUR RIGHTS & DELETION

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@hoodoo.gg. Deleting your account removes your profile, library, playtime history, playlists, and usage records from our database.

You also have the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Luxembourg, the CNPD (Commission nationale pour la protection des données).

STEAM

Hoodoo is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation or Steam. Library data is retrieved via the Steam Web API under its Terms of Use, and only for the signed-in user who requests it.

CHANGES

If Hoodoo's features change in ways that affect your data, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
